  • Host of the Cold Star Project show & podcast
  • Founded & Co-Founded two Sales Organizations prior to Cold Star, past factory manager of over 150 staff
  • Extensive high level civic volunteer experience, connecting policy staff, lawmakers, taxpayers, commercial operators and NPOs to drive change…and working to do the same in space with governments, regulators, influence groups, operators, workforce, and public.

 




Rick Fleeter, PhD, Engineering Advisor

  • Pioneer of microspace since the 1970s – Developed 25 successful small satellites
  • Founded and grew AeroAstro to 100 staff
  • Experience with JPL, TRW, Defense Systems, Amsat
  • Professor at Brown University and La Sapienza (Rome)- teaches courses in microspace & engineering design – author – previously at UCLA & Cal State Long Beach.

Christopher Newman, PhD, International Space Law and Policy Advisor

  • Professor of Space Law and Policy at Northumbria University in Newcastle, Visiting Professor of Space Law at the Open University, and works within the AstrobiologyOU project
  • Published numerous articles on space law, in particular concerning the intersection of regulation, ethics, law and policy in the space industry
  • Co-author, “Frontiers of Space Risk” on the variety of risks involved in human space activity
  • Active in the teaching and research of space law for over two decades, and is working with industrial partners on space law projects; past anti-proliferation officer, UK police.

 


Robert Whearty, MBA, MSEE, Space Insurance Advisor

  • Satellite & spacecraft insurance, risk analysis, regulatory and export control specialist
  • Past roles in satellite payload design and integration, including JCSAT-4 (Intelsat 26)
  • Experience with risk analysis for Iridium NEXT and SES O3b constellations
  • Responsible for contracts that represent over $4 Billion in insured assets.
